Furosemide is a loop diuretic. It is commonly prescribed for congestive cardiomyopathy, pulmonary edema, hypercalciuric nephropathy, uremia, hypertension, and as an adjunct agent in hyperkalemia in small animals. In cattle, it may be prescribed for postparturient udder edema. In horses, it may be prescribed for epistaxis and exercise induced pulmonary hemorrhage (EIPH).
Enalapril is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. Commonly prescribed for dogs and cats with mild, moderate, or severe heart failure and high blood pressure, and is usually used in combination with other medications.
